Project accommodation vs. hotel in Finland: real cost comparison (2026)

For a crew staying weeks or months, the hotel bill grows brutally. Here is the honest math.

The numbers

A hotel room in Finland typically costs 90–150 € per night per person. Project accommodation costs 25–30 € per bedroom per night – 25–30 € per person in a private bedroom, or 12.5–15 € per person in a shared twin. For a crew of 10 staying 90 nights: hotels run 81 000–135 000 €, private bedrooms 22 500–27 000 €, and shared twins 11 250–13 500 €. The saving is 60–90 %.

What you give up – and what you gain

No daily housekeeping or breakfast buffet. In exchange: a full kitchen that cuts restaurant bills, laundry for workwear, parking at the door, real living space, and the quiet of a home instead of a hotel corridor. Cleaning is arranged when needed, and bed linen and towels are included.

When a hotel still wins

For stays under roughly two weeks, a single traveler, or a meeting-heavy city-center trip, a hotel is often the right call. From one month onwards, furnished apartments win on cost, comfort and practicality – and the gap only widens with crew size and duration.

Erikois Apartments provides project accommodation anywhere in Finland, Sweden and Estonia. Tell us the location, headcount, duration and budget – you'll get a proposal the same day.
